Meet Diego Silbermanas
Brief Career Overview:
Diego Ariel Silbermanas is a percussionist, author, and educator with more than 25 years of experience, specializing in conga instruction. His methodology is based on his extensive international training and his own technical manuals, used in conservatories and universities around the world.
PUBLICATIONS AND ACHIEVEMENTS:
Since 2016, he has developed technical manuals compiling more than 600 exercises, accompanied by over 5 hours of video content.

Introduction to Congas
Technique, Rhythms, and Rudiments on Congas (Vol. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5).
His methods are used in major institutions such as the University of Minnesota (USA), the Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda (EMPA), and the Instituto Universitario de la Patagonia (IUPA), among others.
MUSICAL EDUCATION AND KEY EXPERIENCE
Beginnings: He began studying percussion in 1999 in Córdoba, with Ricardo Roque and Esteban Gutiérrez.
Buenos Aires: He studied with renowned figures such as Juan José Martínez, Carlo Seminara, and Daniel “Tatita” Marquez.
Study Trips:
Cuba (2009 and 2013): He was a student of the renowned Cuban percussionist
Adonis “Panter” Calderón.
Peru (Lima and El Carmen): He studied Peruvian cajón with José Alfredo Valiente, recognizing the rich tradition of Peruvian música criolla.
LECTURES AND FESTIVALS
Current Teaching: He currently conducts Latin percussion workshops (both individual and group sessions).

Intensive Conga Seminars in Guayaquil (Ecuador), Mar del Plata and Rosario (Argentina).
International Percussion Festival TOQUE! (2022).
Cátedra Abierta at the Faculty of Music of the National University of Cuyo (Mendoza, 2023).
Recognition: Recipient of a scholarship from the National Arts Fund to conduct conga seminars (2023).
